Amazingly up-to-date information on current fires in the West is available from
Wildland Fire: Home of the Wildland Firefighteer.
California fire information is available from the home page of the
California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (CDF).
A little closer to home, there’s a lot of interesting information, both general and fire related, on the
YubaNet Web site for the Gold Country and Northern Sierra Nevada.
Perhaps the richest source of local information on wildfire and fire safety is the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County
http://www.areyoufiresafe.com
The Fire Safe Council is “a coalition of public and private partners that share a common interest in wildfire prevention and public education.”
